Have you ever been confronted with an obvious need . . . and yet found nothing anywhere near a fitting solution? This is exactly what happened to me a few years ago after a day of beach volleyball and surfing as I was stuffing wet, bedraggled equipment into my insufficient bag (which by the way, contained more sand than equipment!). Ugh!
It was that simple experience which provided the seeds of inspiration for Jolee Collection.
I realized that what I needed was a bag that eliminated the sand, and allowed damp items to breathe and dry. I wanted it to be large, and sturdy enough to carry equipment, yet organized in such a way that it also provided space for smaller items like keys, driver’s license, or lip balm. Equally important to me was that it should definitely be eye-catching . . . a bag that could be both beautiful and useful. And, I knew that if this conception of the bag was to be perfect for the needs of an active person whose roots were firmly embedded in outdoor elements . . . I would have to design and make it myself!
With the onset of 2020, came the untimely end of a long career as a flight attendant . . . an unexpected event which provided the silver lining of the necessary time and energy to pursue this dream to create functional and beautiful all-activity bags . . . a means to an end . . . or should I say, a beginning.
So like the active, yet beautiful hummingbird, created by nature for precision and efficiency, who with each appearance reminds us to enjoy life’s little pleasures, these bags will lighten your life, and allow you the freedom to just simply enjoy . .
